Chloe Ava Kai
A blessed blessed twenty-0 seven!!
So many wishes, so many hopes, so many dreams... for all my loved ones, and for all the people around the world... from africa to antartica...
Daddy, Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for Your grace, favour and love. We love because You first loved us =j
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope"
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8 (Beyond awwwwww.... =j)
When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4 (My name is going to be Gurkha-protected in somebody's mouth.. =j)
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5 (Yupyup, buy fragrances, people!! It's a good excuse to smell someone! *hee*)
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy -age 6 (O boy, from somebody who eats a lot - ahem, me - i have to say that this takes the french fri- oops, cake!)
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4 (i'll always remember how when i was in depression and the Lord's words gave me joy =j 201% true!)
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7 (Then Daddy can take a sip from where Mummy take a sip, and then they can share a secret smile with each other... =j)
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8 (I wanna look gross too *hee*)
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 (Wow!!!!! This is poetry =j)
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend whom you hate" Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7 (i think this warms the cockles of a girl's heart =j to know that the guy values your opinion and is most probably thinking of you whenever he wears the shirt =j)
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6 (this reminds me of a piccie that i took one night... i saw this elderly caucasian couple walking together down the street, still so in love even in their twilight years, weathering weal and woe together in life... i want my anata and me to be like that too, till the end of time... =j)
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8 (Whenever I have big presentations to do, my Daddy God cheers me on. And I am so secure in His favor and love =j)
"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - age 6 (A goodnight kiss =j Sighz =j)
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken" Elaine - age 5 (When you've been together for so long, and yet you still put aside your own interests and want the best for your spouse... that is so beautiful =j)
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 7 (love that goes beyond the physical... too sweet!)
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4 (This really touched me, how innocent and pure the love is... not counting the lonely sad moments when the person you love has left you alone, but giving fullness of love whenever that person is around. How hard this is for a human to acheive...)
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4 (*hee* that's so funni =P)
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen - age 7 (o gosh, that sounds like me! *hee* throw in some pink sparkly hearts into the equation too! =P)
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6 (coz Mummy was thinking of something else, Mark =P you'll understand when you grow older *pat pat*)
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8 (This is such an astute observation into the pyschology of humans.... from a little 8-year old girl, no less!)
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four-year-old child whose next-door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry" (Love through the generations...)
someone once said that he enjoyed the throes of loving another secretly.
i guess the mixed feelings of sweetness and anxiety... of uncertainty and hope... can be an addictive pyschosis to a person.
and yet, i would rather have a still, still heart.
a fear of being hurt... a fear of the unknown...
a fear of the possibility of being spiritually intimate... a fear of my very real inadequacies...
my very real worthlessness.
i've never been able to believe that i can be worthy of another person's love.
i've always believed that a person with such good attributes would belong to another person better than me.
so i seal a warm beating heart with fragile, inpenetrable ice.
not daring to imagine... not daring to hope.
for a person such as i, hope is too much of a precious luxury.
leave daydreams... for the dreamers.
"Why is it that you always inhibit all the oxygen
See it's all your fault that I can't breathe properly in front of you
I need an ambulance
It's nothing, no it's nothing
I'm never going to admit that it's because I like you
What am I going to do, these sweet yet heartwrenching feelings
Secretly loving you... I feel happy yet lonely
What am I going to do, not being able to say I like you
Why can't you help me out here
Why is it that you appeared with no rhyme or reason
Don't come too close...
Oh! what is a good distance to be near you"
XXX *muachz* Merry pre-Christmas!!! (^-~)
O gosh, is this an obvious excuse to post gifs of Fahrenheit? *blush*
They've been awww-so-entertaining to watch on the many variety shows youtubed because they're so humorously quarrelsome =P
It's refreshing to see a boyband whose members all have distinct entertaining personalities coupled with good looks, rather than: non-descript personalities (sowwie 183 club!), members not all equally attractive (sowwie F4), entertaining personalities but lacking slightly in the looks department (sowwie 5566), cheesy blandness (i'm so sowwie 2moro!), members leaving all the time (sowwie Energy), and members who have all left (Comic Boyz).
Plus, they have v. good stylists who outfit them in tasteful togs and hairstyles scrunched just right. In an industry where image is everything, this is tres important, undoubtedly =j F4 had many a failed styling, and for the rest of the boybands, I guess silence is gold on this subject *oops!* The boyband that takes the cake (for me at least) must be 183 club, because I've never had so much goose pimples as when I watched their MV on tv once where they postured and preened in impossible tight vests and plunging necklines. Egad!! Oh no, even the name..... how do u squeal that?!
My favvie Fahrenheit member is.... maybe u'll like to guess? =j But I must say that how he became my fav was when I realised that whenever I watched their variety shows, I would invariably notice his actions and words more compared to the rest. He didn't strike me as the best-looking one when I first watched them, but somehow he drew my attention with every show =j
All the best in your fledgling showbiz career, Fahrenheit! They're all down with sicknesses due to their hectic schedule and one tore his leg ligament, so here's wishing that all may be healthy and strong, and shine on-screen and off! Break out the bubbly, folks! A toast! To health and life (^-~)b
just came out from the hospital... the lump on my neck was hurting reawi badly.
no cabs close to midnight... calls. wait.
when i finalli reached the hospital, they took my temperature and said that i was running a slight fever, and had to wear a mask. the lump was all hard, and later started pusing and bleeding. in the end, they had to dig out the rotting portion coz the doctor said the medicine wasn't able to penetrate through to the bottom.
but while stepping into the A&E, an ambulance stopped and two young malay men were rolled out. their heads were bloodied and bandaged. i saw their anxious parents. and i said a prayer.
may they be healed and well.
thank you Lord, for healing me of the lumps on the head. when i had those lumps, i could barely sleep coz of the pain, and woke up everyday with hair all matted with blood and pus. but those were completely healed without any surgery. I know that my neck is completely healed too Lord.
the doctor said that there'll be a cavity in my neck. and i cried to my Daddy God.. but He reawi helped to break through the tears with a special thought. It's a unique cavity - a vampire bite on my neck. A one-toothed vampire. Lestat.. de First. =P
lady le bitten.
thank you Lord, for always helping me to see the good in everything.
sighz. i want you to accompany me to our future. (^-^)
i still remember reading one of his interviews many many years ago.
"what are your goals for your future?" the interviewer asked.
"to bring my dancing to a whole new level, to be an excellent stage performer, to cut good albums... to win a best actor award by 40" was his answer back then.
It has been a long ardous journey for him, with so many detractors saying that he'll never make good as an actor... that he ranked bottom among the four Heavenly Kings... that his career had hit the pits.
But at 41, his Heavenly King mettle is shining forth.
Congratulations, Aaron! You have attained your goals twice over. Congratulations on winning Best Actor in the Golden Horse Awards for the second time in a row! And you have become the second person in history to win the Best Actor award consecutively. As a fan for more than 10 years, words cannot describe how happy I am for you.. You will always be numero uno Heavenly King in our hearts (^-~)
Aaron Kwok - 42nd Golden Horse Awards Best Actor
Aaron Kwok - 43rd Golden Horse Awards Best Actor
I still remember a scene in "Divergence", the movie that won Aaron his first Golden Horse Award last year. He was thinking of his lost wife, whom he had been searching for in desperation for 10 years. And while eating a hamburger, sitting at the wheel of his car, he cried. The jury in Golden Horse had said that the reason why Aaron won the award was because he was the only one of the 4 Best Actor nominees whose eyes turned red while crying. It was geniune emoting, they said.
And the slow burn and decline of his character in "After This Our Exile" has been lauded even more by reviewers. Like the chant of the rosary, After This Our Exile burns even more into our hearts. The title is especially poignant.. 'After this our exile' is from the prayers of the rosary (and quoted in TS Eliot's poem "Ash Friday"), which means 'lead us home at last' - 'et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui'...
".......Redeem the time, redeem the dream
The token of the word unheard, unspoken
Till the wind shake a thousand whispers from the yew
And after this our exile
If the lost word is lost, if the spent word is spent
If the unheard, unspoken
Word is unspoken, unheard;
Still is the unspoken word, the Word unheard,
The Word without a word, the Word within
The world and for the world;
And the light shone in darkness and
Against the Word the unstilled world still whirled
About the centre of the silent Word....."
*hee* love these quotes from ickle animation scene-stealers (fromToday)
EDNA MODE, The Incredibles: A flamboyant costume designer who creates outfits for superheroes and whose every line is punctuated with the word 'darling'.
Bob: "Wait! You want to make me a suit?
Edna: "You push too hard darling! But I accept!"
REX, Toy Story: A leaf-green toy Tyrannosaurus who has the demeanour of a hamster, Rex dreads the day when his owner Andy might get another toy dinosaur for fear that there might be a confrontation. Perpetually guilt-ridden, this character's inferiority complex is actually what makes him a winner.
Rex: "What if Andy gets another dinosaur? A mean one? I don't think I can take that kind of rejection."
TIMON, The Lion King: A wisecracking and lazy but occasionally frenetic meerkat who - with his best friend Pumbaa the Warhog - helps Simba become the King he was destined to be.
Pumbaa: "Timon, ever wonder what those sparkly dots are up there?"
Timon: "Pumbaa, I don't wonder; I know."
Pumbaa: "Oh, what are they?"
Timon: "They're fireflies. Fireflies that, uh.. got stuck up on that big bluish-black thing."
Pumbaa: "Oh, gee. I always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away."
Timon: "Pumbaa, with you, everything's gas."
*hahaha* I love that =j With you, everything's gas. *hee* (^-~)
My kor kor posted this video clip on his blog, soooo adoweeble!! Babies are truly fresh from heaven, aren't they? (^-~) I was feeling down and depressed the other day, thank God for this little piece of heaven =j
Finally, a little cupcake of a girl who just lights up the day with her song =j awwwww...
"You're my honeybunch sugarplum...
You're my sweetiepie...
You're my cuppycake...
Gumdrop, snoogums-boogums joy...
The apple of my eye...
And I love you so...
And I want you to know...
That I'll always be right here...
And I love to sing sweet songs to you...
Because you are so dear..."
I think I'll put it into my script, get the guy to serenade the girl with it =j Yeah =j
looking at jonathan leong is not exciting as looking at clothes.
according to maine'maine, that is. I showed her jon leong's photospread in Style Mag today after dinner, and she was like, Ai yo, I thought you were going to show me some nice clothes.
but she also said that he looked quite good in the photos. they slicked his hair back, very different look from the norm Jon =P personally, i still love his voice best (^-~)
caught hady's mv on tv, and can only say... Universal Music is supposed to be home to music greats like U2 etc. But that's not reflected in the music video.
the location for the shoot was not chosen well, you could see lorries parked in the background; the cafe's chairs were the unattractive metal ones; the angles they shot of hady were not his best; the really nice silver jacket he wore in the outdoor scenes was rather out-of-place against the heartlands-esque backdrop, but yet the striped t-shirt he wore in the indoor scenes was too casual and baleno-ish; the storyplot of his girlfriend returning back immediately to forgive him was too manufactured; and there was a scene where he flipped his ears while putting his arms behind his head (maybe hady fans might find this cute =P)
hope that jon leong's mv turns out much better.. and that he has good song selections in his album, especially some nice jazz numbers. yeah =j
finalli, in anticipation of watching "happy feet" (i was joking with my sis that from now on, whenever we wanna go to the ladies to powder our nose, we'll say "happi feet!!! *cough* ploong! *cough* happi feet!!!* =P), here's a little penguin with naughty flippers instead.
Good night! Be good yeah! Christmas' round the corner! (^-~)
